“The Fortune-Keeping Spell of the Pixiu Cinnabar Chain”
When the bankrupt businessman Chen Mo was seeking fortune in the temple, the old abbot gave him a dark red bracelet – three obsidian Pixiu holding cinnabar beads, each bead surface engraved with an incomplete spell. The old monk smiled mysteriously: “The Pixiu who swallowed money, it’s time to spit out treasure this time.”
The night he put it on, Chen Mo dreamed that he dug out a pottery jar in the old house, which was full of candy wrappers collected in his childhood. After waking up, he returned to the old house by some strange coincidence and actually found the jar in the crack of the wall. On the back of the candy wrappers were all “business secrets” written in childish handwriting: selling cicada shells, renting comic books, writing love letters for others…
When the financial crisis was at its worst, Chen Mo restarted his childhood “candy wrapper business” with the guidance of the bracelet – turning bankruptcy stories into healing candies. When the first “Life Candy” was sold, Pixiu’s eyes suddenly shed cinnabar tears, and the remaining mantras on its beaded face spelled out the complete “Heart Sutra”.
(Hidden clue: Each cinnabar bead is mixed with the blood-stained gauze ashes when the old abbot bandaged little Chen Mo’s knee)
