“The Promise of the Four-Leaf Clover”
Tang Youyou found a faded red string with a small four-leaf clover jade pendant at the bottom of grandma’s old wooden box. Grandma stroked the jade pendant and said: “When I was young, I was separated from your grandfather during the war, and I only took this four-leaf clover he gave me. Later, I buried a leaf in every place I went, hoping that he could find me through ‘luck’…”
“Where is the fourth leaf?” Youyou asked.
Grandma smiled: “The last one, I kept it until the day we meet again.”
Youyou re-woven the jade pendant into a bracelet and wore it on her wrist.
When she failed the interview, the jade pendant hit the corner of the table and made a “ding” sound. She remembered what her grandmother said, “Luck is for those who don’t give up”;
When she got lost in a foreign country, she subconsciously reached for the jade pendant and unexpectedly met a kind old man holding a road sign at the corner;
Until one rainy day, she held an umbrella for an old man who fell down, and the old man pointed to her wrist tremblingly: “This jade pendant… has the same pattern as the third leaf I buried that year.”
It turns out that luck is never accidental, but a gentle echo that is never forgotten.
Meaning
The truth of luck: Four-leaf clover does not create miracles, but those who believe in it will persist for one more step;
The shape of the bond: Some promises travel through time and are always fulfilled in unexpected ways;
The warmth of inheritance: The most precious thing is not the jade itself, but the waiting and hope it carries.
