“Cat’s Fishbone Bracelet”

The antique shop deep in the alley always opens on rainy days.
The girl exchanged three coins for a fishbone bracelet – seven transparent fish vertebrae, strung together with red rope. The owner said it was “the cat’s reward”.

That night, a calico cat jumped onto her windowsill, staring at the bracelet with glass-like eyes.
“Put it on, you can understand what the fish say.” The cat licked its paw, “but remember, the fish only tells the truth once.”

The girl put on the bracelet doubtfully, and the goldfish in the fish tank suddenly said:
“Run away! There is – under your bed”

Before the words fell, the cat had already jumped into the fish tank.

The next day, she found a rusty iron box under the bed. Inside was her mother’s diary, which had been missing for many years. The last page had the same fishbone bracelet with the following words written next to it:
