“The Warmth Memory of Nanhong Bracelet”
Antique restorer Shen Nanhong received a dark red agate bracelet in the ancient town of southern Yunnan, and each bead was condensed with flame-like patterns. The old grandmother in the silversmith shop said: “This is the ‘love flame’, which needs to be nurtured with the temperature of the heart.”
Whenever Shen Nanhong encountered difficulties in restoring cultural relics, the bracelet would get slightly hot. The most amazing thing is that those most difficult to distinguish blurred patterns would suddenly become clear when she touched them – the thunder pattern on the bronze ware, the faded seal of the ancient painting, the inscription on the bottom of the porcelain bottle…
Until she met the Tang Dynasty Bodhisattva statue with the missing Buddha head in the museum. When her bracelet touched the broken neck of the Buddha statue, all the beads suddenly turned bright red. After closing, the old curator who was on night watch trembled and held out a wooden box: “You are finally here…” The yellowed diary in the box recorded: Seventy years ago, the young scholar who saved this Buddha statue in the war was wearing a Nanhong bracelet on his wrist.
(The final secret is revealed: the flame pattern in each agate, when put together, is a treasure map of the lost Buddha head of the Bodhisattva statue)
