“White Jade Bodhicitta”

When jewelry designer Bai Lu was collecting folk songs in Tibet, she came across an old lama who was turning the sutra. The white jade bracelet on his wrist was as warm as cream, and it shone like moonlight under the sunshine of the plateau.

“This is the sacred jade of the snow mountain,” the old lama gave her the bracelet, “it becomes dark when it encounters turbidity, and becomes bright when it encounters sincerity.”

After returning to the city, Bai Lu found that whenever she said something against her will, the white jade would be covered with a faint gray mist. Once, she designed an exaggerated style to please a customer, and the whole string of beads suddenly became dim.

After three consecutive nights of insomnia, she finally tore up the business contract. That night, it rained heavily, but the white jade shone brightly in the dark, reflecting her design sketches from college days – there was a simple snow lotus painted on it.

Now, the window of “Bai Lu Studio” displays a minimalist series inspired by snow lotus. Each customer will receive a handwritten card:

“May you be like white jade, untainted by the turbidity of the world, and have your own bright moonlight.”
