“Pink Beads”
On the first day of the rainy season, Jane Ning stopped in front of a stall at the flea market.

A faded pink bead bracelet lay on the velvet cloth. The plastic beads were a little yellow, but one of them strangely remained as pink as cherry blossoms. The stall owner was a grandfather wearing reading glasses: “Five dollars, little girl. This bead is said to choose its own owner.”

She bought it with a smile, just as if she was buying an interesting story.
