“The Light of Black Porcelain and Colored Glass in the Dark Night”
Chapter 1: Kiln Change Night
The old kiln master in Jingdezhen has a secret – whenever the kiln is fired on the night of a lunar eclipse, the glaze color will become as deep as ink. In the cold winter of that year, he fired Buddhist beads for a monk, but the firewood went out of control and the whole kiln of porcelain was all black. The monk laughed and clapped his hands: “The light is hidden in the black, and the light is born in the dark.”
Chapter 2: Matte and Starlight
The surface of this batch of accidentally born black porcelain and colored glass beads is matte night color, but if you turn it towards the candlelight, fine silver-blue stars will emerge in the glaze layer, like a crushed Milky Way. The kiln master’s daughter A Li secretly hid one and found that whenever she was uneasy, the bead was particularly cold; and when she was brave, the starlight was active like fireflies.
Chapter 3: The bracelet for overcoming evil
Many years later, the war spread to the town. A-li distributed the beads to the fleeing children: “Hold it tightly, darkness is just a container of light.” The children were surprised to find that –
In the cellar, the beads would glow faintly;
Touch it when crying, and the tears would reflect the starlight;
Until the day when peace came, all the beads faded from black at the same time, revealing the sky-blue glass inside…
✨ The nature of things is the nature of the heart
Black porcelain: represents the silence of the world.
Glass: symbolizes the purity of the original heart.
