“The Tide of Coral Jade”
When marine biologist Li Wan was conducting research in a fishing village, an old fisherman gave her a red coral jade bracelet: “Wear it, and the sea will talk to you.”
One late night, the coral samples in the laboratory suddenly bleached collectively. Li Wan anxiously turned the bracelet, and her fingertips suddenly touched the fine lines in the jade beads – that was the life track left by coral polyps billions of years ago. She suddenly remembered the words of the old fisherman: “Corals will turn into jade when they die, but their souls will still reincarnate in the sea.”
Three months later, she returned to the fishing village with the small coral seedlings she had successfully cultivated. When the tide receded, the coral jade on the bracelet reflected the sunset, and it was so red that it seemed to be dripping with blood. The children gathered around and exclaimed: “Are they relatives of the living corals in the sea?” Li Wan smiled and nodded: “They are all transformed from the same ancestor.”
Meaning: The coral jade bracelet condenses the wisdom of reincarnation of life and death. It is both a memorial to the past and a prophecy of the new life, reminding humans that they are always connected by blood with nature.
