“The Fate of Blue Crystal”
Lin Yuqing found a unique blue crystal bracelet in an antique shop deep in the alley. Each crystal seemed to have starlight flowing in it. The owner was a silent old man who only warned her: “This bracelet will choose its owner by itself.”
Since wearing it, Yuqing has dreamed of an ancient woman in blue standing by the lake every night with sad eyes. Even more strange is that she began to be able to predict some small things – for example, the crystal will become cool before it rains, and will become slightly hot when in danger.
One day, she saw an ancient painting in the museum. The woman in the painting was exactly the same as the one in her dream, and she was wearing this string of blue crystals on her wrist. The narrator said that this was a local female poet a hundred years ago who accidentally fell into the water and died on the eve of her wedding.
That night, Yuqing dreamed of the complete truth: the woman jumped into the lake to escape marriage, and the bracelet was her lover’s last gift. When she woke up, the crystal emitted a gentle blue light, and Yuqing understood that she had completed a certain fateful handover.
From then on, the bracelet no longer felt strange, but every time Yuqing wrote, she could always feel a sense of tranquility, as if someone was whispering those unfinished stories.
